I’m 58… and I’m Not Done Yet

At 58, I’m realizing I don’t want to turn back the clock—I just want to make the years ahead the best ones I can. ❤️ This week I’m sharing what getting older has taught me about health, family, faith, staying curious, and why I believe I’m far from done yet post description.

My I’m 58… and I’m Not Done Yet

The Molecule Movement — Blog #8 | September 9, 2026

There is something funny about getting older.

When I was younger, 58 sounded old. 😂 Now that I’m here, I’m thinking… Wait a minute. I’m just getting started.

I don’t want to be 30 again. I really don’t. I’ve lived too much, learned too much, loved too much, lost people I love, made mistakes, raised a family, become a Mimi, and learned some pretty hard lessons along the way.

Those years made me who I am.

But somewhere along the way, I started thinking differently about getting older.

I realized I don’t just want to live longer.

I want to live better.

I Started Paying Attention

Over the last couple of years, I’ve become that woman who asks questions about EVERYTHING. 😂

What am I eating?
Am I moving enough?
Am I getting enough protein?
What about sleep?
Vitamins?
Fasting?
Red light?
Cold plunges?
Peptides?
Hormones?
Why does this work?
Why doesn’t that work?

And if you’ve been reading my blogs, you already know—I’m curious.

I’m not a doctor. I’m not pretending to have all the answers. I’m simply a 58-year-old woman who decided that my health was worth learning about.

And the more I learn, the more questions I have.

My Mom Has Taught Me Something Without Even Trying

My mother is 80, and I watch her still go and do.

I admire that more than she probably realizes.

Because when I think about getting older, THAT is what I want.

I don't just want a number attached to my life.

I want to be able to get up and go somewhere. I want to spend time with my family. I want to laugh. I want to travel. I want to enjoy Robert, my children and my grandchildren.

I want to LIVE my life—not just watch it go by.

And watching my mother reminds me that getting older doesn't automatically mean you have to stop living.

I Can’t Change Yesterday

There are plenty of things I wish I had done differently when I was younger.

I could have taken better care of myself. I could have paid more attention to what I was putting into my body. I could have moved more.

But what good does it do to sit around beating myself up over what I didn't do 20 or 30 years ago?

I can't change yesterday.

But I sure can decide what I do today.

Today I can move my body.

Today I can make a better food choice.

Today I can learn something new.

Today I can take care of myself.

And tomorrow?

I get another chance to do it again.

I'm Not Chasing Younger

This might be the biggest thing I've learned.

I don't want to be younger. I want to be healthier.

There is a difference.

I'm not trying to erase 58 years of living. I've earned every wrinkle, every lesson, every laugh line—and probably every gray hair too. 😂

What I want is to be the strongest, healthiest, happiest version of 58-year-old me that I can be.

And when I'm 68?

I hope I'm still saying the same thing.

When I'm 78?

Same thing.

And if God blesses me with 80 and beyond, I hope I'm still curious, still learning, still moving and probably still driving everybody crazy asking a million questions. 😂

Maybe That's What Longevity Really Is

We hear the word longevity everywhere now.

But maybe we've made that complicated too.

Maybe longevity isn't just about adding years to our lives.

Maybe it's about adding life to our years.

Being able to play with the grandkids.

Getting up in the morning and having something you're excited about.

Taking the trip.

Starting the business.

Learning something completely new at 58.

Taking care of the body God gave you.

And refusing to believe your best days automatically have to be behind you simply because you're getting older.

I'm 58.

I'm still learning.

I'm still changing.

I'm still working on myself.

I definitely don't have everything figured out.

And I'm not done yet. ❤️
